Had to wait 30 minster due to backlog. However the staff were apologetic. The eye test itself was more than satisfactory.

Unfortunately this particular visit was not good - I wish I had been able to wait until Rodney returned from annual leave, as he is lovely. The optometrist I saw had quite a brusque manner, which is very off-putting when their face is right in your face, and did not deign to introduce herself. She also sniffed a lot, as though she had a cold - also not nice when her face was so close to mine. I explained when I first sat down that I thought my prescription might need changing, because I wasn't able to read number plates etc. as clearly as I could before, although I didn't experience this issue as much when wearing my glasses for driving: her attitude seemed to be that I didn't know my own eyesight, which then set the tone for the rest of the visit. When checking my sight and asking me whether 1 or 2 was better, she held the lens over my eye in such a way that all I could see was a red dot on the lens... I explained that I couldn't see past the red dot and therefore couldn't say whether 1 or 2 was better, but changing the position of the lens seemed to be an inconvenience to her. She also seemed quite intent on getting me to move from daily to monthly lenses, even though I explained that I preferred the convenience of dailies and was happy to pay the additional cost incurred by upping my number of pairs from 20 to 30 per month. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but maintaining a good outward facing customer service attitude goes a long way and I'm afraid that this visit did not live up to the excellent customer service experience I have come to expect with Boots Opticians. The other issue I experienced as a result of my visit is that my lens scheme wasn't updated to reflect my new prescription, nor was my request to increase the number of pairs actioned: this meant that when I received my delivery yesterday, I received my old prescription and only 60 pairs for the 3 months, rather than the new prescription and 90 pairs. Having said that, the issue was quickly rectified upon ringing the Customer Service Care team and speaking to a very helpful chap named David; my new lenses are on the way and I am grateful to him for his assistance. A response to this feedback is not strictly necessary as I have written off my visit as a bad experience, but I have provided my details in case you do want to contact me; I will remain a Boots Opticians customer, but will ensure that I book my next lens check up with Rodney.
